
![]() | Buildings aren’t islands. They are part of a community of other buildings and spaces and that needs to be taken into account in their design. That doesn’t mean that we should always design buildings to look like the ones that are already there. In fact, contrast can be fun and exciting. But it should be obvious that the architect has responded to the surroundings, has looked carefully at the community and taken it into account in the design.
