The way the building looks is an important part of its design and how it makes us feel.

A well-designed place seems to have a personality, a character of its own that sets it apart while badly-designed places feel bland and mechanical, as if they were put together by robots rather than people.

All personalities are different, of course, for buildings as well as people. Sometimes they are sunny and friendly and sometimes they are darker and more difficult. The important thing is that character is there.
