Spaces need to be large enough for their uses but also well proportioned. They should feel nice to be in as well as being practical, so the lighting should be good, with as much natural light as possible.

Rooms and spaces don’t exist in isolation, though. Think about how they are linked together. Are they in the right places? You don’t want to have to walk through the kitchen to get to your bedroom, for example. Are the corridors or walkways wide enough for all the people who use them?

If you could move all the rooms or spaces around to make them more comfortable, or easier to use, what would you do?  Would you need to make many changes?
